The Gaples Institute presented to a group of Hispanic mothers with children in the Head Start program in South Chicago. During the event, Dr. Devries discussed practical dietary changes to lower sugar load and improve family health, such as:
- 2 cans soda per day for 2 months leads to 5 pounds of extra body fat (shown in picture)
- 1 cup of white rice raises blood sugar more than a glazed donut
